Rameen Festival
The Rameen Festival is Furcadia's annual end-of-summer event. It's been held since 2000, where it first began in the dream of Sanctuary. In 2002, Rameen Island got its own standalone map, where the event has been held ever since.
The festival honors Jemmion, Lord of the First Moon and ruler over everything to do with the beach: the seashores, the tides, the nighttime and the moon.
Rameen Island
The Rameen Festival takes place on Rameen Island, an island accessed through a portal in the Vinca that only opens during the end of summer.
At the center of the island is a merry-go-round with 8 animals to ride on: a giraffe, a domestic cat, a pig, a camel, a horse, a second pig, a zebra, and a panther.
The northwestern shore of Rameen Island is Kahuna Bay, and it has the Rameen Festival's star feature: rentable surfboards for riding the waves. Nearby is some seating areas and a shower, along with one of those novelty photo stands you can put your head in.
East of the bay is the Moongazing Pool, a small pond with a view of the moon. Jemmion is known as the Lord of the First Moon and the ruler of the tides.
West of the bay is an inner tube ride, and south of that is the Triple Dip Pool, a trio of water slides. South of the pool is the seating area of Bonfire Point, and east from there is Fantasm Beach.
The northeast coast holds the Dream Dock, which hosts the entries to the Dream Contest -- when applicable.
The southwestern pier is home to The Bounty, a shrimp shack; not far from it is the Trivia Hut, where you can answer questions for a chance to visit the Pixels' Underwater World. Answers to the questions can be found by feeding parrots found around the island.
Across the Island are buckets, which allow you to make sand sculptures. There are also Jem's Pet Chests, where you can borrow one of Jemmion's ghost pets.

Underwater World
Under the Rameen sea is the Underwater World, a secret map that can only be accessed through the Trivia Hut. Its grandest feature is its kelp maze, but credit must be given to the turtle-drawn carriage ride and the sand castle. Visitors are transformed into one of several marine species, from jellyfish to seahorses.
History
Above is a recreation of Rameen Island with the patches freely available in the Patch Archive. The patch is missing a fair deal of decor, such as the coastal rocks.
Even Emerald Flame is uncertain who made the original map.
The lore for the Rameen Festival was originally written by Talzhemir in 1996, at a time where they lacked funds. The festival was written as a celebration of summer nights, fun, and the always-plentiful ramen noodle.
For the first few years, Jemmion himself would make an appearance, played by one of the Beekins.
The Rameen Festival was also an opportunity for Furcadian netizens to advertise their own parties. These were sometimes judged as a contest. Other years featured the Fun in the Sun Dream Contest, held on the Dream Dock.
Ryhn created the scripting for the tides and surfboards. Gar wrote the quiz quest, as well as the treasure hunt with the help of Kaelin'yFaie. Nommad created the rhythm minigame.
The Rameen Festival, along with the Sweetheart Ball, was one of the few festival maps to not get folded into the seasonal "Festival Grounds" map. This was apparently on account of that no one could get the surfing script to work.
The Underwater World was the Beekins' first major collaborate patch project. The graphics were made by Marah~Fae, Akoi Meexx, Jefurre, Lanava, Legendary Myth, Misaluv, Prideth, Pristine, Renata, and project coordinator Dragonfly. For the 32bit graphics update, the patch was updated by Tenjin, Majas, and Sync.
